A massage focusing on working the muscles along their origin and insertions, strokes are slow and deep to really work specific muscles. Very little oils are used. If you suffer from a sports injury, it will help to relieve pain and stress within the muscles allowing your body to rebalance.
The word “Shiatsu” is Japanese and literally means “finger pressure”, as this is the main technique used in giving Shiatsu. Pressure is also applied to the body with the palms of the hands and sometimes with the elbows, knees and feet to give stronger pressure. Stretching exercises are also applied to increase flexibility.

Shiatsu was developed from traditional oriental massage, and as with other oriental therapies such as acupuncture, it works on the flow of Chi that circulates through the body in specific channels called meridians. By promoting the steady and unimpeded flow of Chi (or in Japanese Ki) and rebalancing the flow where it has become excessive or deficient, health is increased and many health problems are alleviated.
Like other natural healing and alternative therapies, Shiatsu is concerned with preventative measures. In the oriental view, an imbalance of Ki develops before the symptoms of illness occur. Therefore, regular Shiatsu can help to pinpoint any patterns of imbalance in the body’s “ki” structure and iron out those problems before they get any worse. In the case of people already suffering from health problems, Shiatsu can be of great benefit, both as a discipline on its own and to mix with other complementary and orthodox treatments.
A combination of eastern and western healing techniques designed specifically to relieve spinal pain and backache.

Sitting, this Ayurvedic treatment consists of a vigorous massage of the shoulders, neck, head and face. This massage is particularly effective in treating stress-related muscular pain, headaches, migraines and eyestrain.

Reflexology is a therapy in which pressure is applied to reflex points on the feet. It is based on the principle that these reflex points are related to the internal organs and glands and are laid out in the same arrangement as that in the physical body, forming a map or microcosm of it.
Pressure or palpitation on a reflex point can therefore affect these structures. This treatment helps to stimulate the normal function of the organ involved and thus aids self-healing, bringing about physical and mental well-being.
